Graduate School Connections

For the Graduate School Connections program, WISE members travel to undergraduate institutions to inform undergraduate students about the opportunities in post-baccalaureate education in chemistry. We hope to encourage female students in the sciences by providing examples of successful female chemists as role models. A team of two WISE members and a male colleague, to ensure inclusiveness of the male undergraduates, educate students about the graduate school application process, summer undergraduate research opportunities, career options, and expectations upon entering graduate school. The workshops are aimed at encouraging freshman and sophomore students to engage in research early in their undergraduate studies, helping juniors decide where to apply to graduate school, and informing seniors about how to select a graduate program.
